Happy Birthday

Happy Monday!

It's time for the new release at A Colorful Life Designs. March is bringing us some wonderful new stencil designs and I've used two of them on today's card.

I used a gel press to make my background in pink and yellow and then stenciled over it lightly with the Slat Mask stencil. Then with a heavier ink I used the Dashing Circles stencil. I love the way it all came together.

I added the Happy Birthday from Picket Fence Studios and a little bit of Washi tape to complete my card.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

This week we have a color challenge:

I used the Winter Wreath stamp and die from MFT Stamps, coloring it with Copic Markers. I also used a sentiment from that set. My background is the Diamond Tiles stamp from Pinkfresh Studio.

There is no Time More Fitting to Say Thank You

 Happy Thursday!

A Colorful Life Designs is gearing up for the March release very soon, so you will want to be on the lookout for that. I thought I would use a stencil from the February release just to get you ready. This one is called Zebra Dots. Don't you just love it?

Did you know you can request a stencil design and Mary Kay will do her best to get it into production? I requested one last night and she actually did two and they will release soon.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #631 - Ever So Grateful

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge #631. Turquoise, pink, rust and fushia are this week's challenge colors.

Amy R is our hostess this week and I think she chose a wonderful inspiration photo. Wouldn't you love to slip into that gorgeous bed?

I used the Sweet Talk stamp set for my heart focal image and the Hey Bestie stamp set for my sentiment. Both are from Concord and 9th. I heat embossed both and then colored the heart image with Copic markers. Sequins were my finishing touch.

Be sure to stop by to see all the inspiration from the design team. You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! You have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

Color Hues Challenge #12 - I Like the Way You Roll

Happy Sunday!

Today I am joining in the fun at the Color Hues blog for their newest challenge which is to use peach and green. I struggle with peach (is it pink; is it orange?), but I decided I could do it!

I reached way back into my Lawn Fawn collection for the Let's Roll stamp and die set. I know nothing about sushi, but after Googling it, I discovered that green and peach were perfect for this set!

Have a terrific day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

It's a Girl

Happy Friday!

I am still having fun making cards for the Make the Cards challenge. It is a new weekly challenge and I absolutely LOVE playing along. I am looking forward to Monday to see what that challenge will be!

This week the challenge is to use a circle shape die. I actually used my digital die cut machine and a cut file, but that's just a fancy way to die cut anyway!

There is just a little bit of time left for this week's challenge. Don't be left behind! Check out the Make The Cards Challenge! Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Color Throwdown Challenge #630 - Thank You

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge #630. Blush, moss green and gold are this week's beautiful colors. Paired together, they make a lovely combo.

I started with a lovely cookie digital stamp from Alex Syberia. I tried a few different ways to incorporate the moss green and finally decided to use it as a background by coloring it in with Copic markers.

You Are Not Alone

Happy COOOOOLD Tuesday!

We were without power for a while, so even though today's card was ready to go, I didn't have a way to post it until now. Better late in the day than never!

The image is from Makers Gonna Learn. I printed it on watercolor paper since it looks like a watercolored image to me. The only things I added were a shadow around the printed image, the sentiment and some Stickles to the tops of the flowers. I know some people don't consider digital images suitable for card making, but I am not one of those folks. I love all types of art and try to use lots of different media in my card making.

Have a warm day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Make the Cards Challenge #4 - Way to Go

Hello Again!

I have a second post for you today to showcase a new challenge I am enjoying. It is called Make the Cards and it is growing each week.

This week the challenge is to use a circle shape die. I would say that most of us have circle dies, so it should be a great challenge for everyone!

First I stenciled my pink, lavender and blue background using the Open Rings stencil from A Colorful Life Designs. I only wanted one circle, so I masked off the rest with a large circle stencil. Then I added the next circle layer which is part of a galaxy background I made. Finally I added two more rings from glitter card stock.

My flag is from My Favorite Things and the tiny sentiment is from The Ton. Even though there are a few layers, this was a fun and easy card to make.

Be sure to check out the Make The Cards Challenge! Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

You are My Greatest Gift

Happy Monday!

Slim Line cards? Yes please! And Slim Line envelopes? Double yes! I love having envelopes that match, ready and waiting for me when I get ready to mail my cards. They come in rainbow and neutral packs which is so awesome!

I knew exactly how I was going to make this card which is not always the case. First I stamped my beautiful lady and then masked off her face. I grabbed my Slim Line English Brick stencil and used three shades of pink, fading it out as I went. I avoided her hair and since her face was masked, I was able to stencil the background easily.

I used pink Copic markers very lightly to accentuate my gal's facial features because I wanted everything to coordinate. I added two sentiments and then cut and matted my background. The sequins were my final addition.

I have listed the products I used below in case you would like to take a closer look. Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again soon.

Some Valentine Decor

Happy Saturday!

I thought I would share my Valentine porch decor with you today. I don't like to use what everyone else has for decor, but sometimes something is just so cute, it is irresistible. Thus the red wooden truck from Hobby Lobby.

Everything else is handmade or gathered from my stash (like the straws). It all started with the wreath and then the rest came together easily. If it was red, white, pink or mint, it was in the mix!

I have already started working on my St. Patrick's Day porch decor which will be on display for the month of March. Except for fall and Christmas, this is the only space I decorate, so I love to go all out here.

If you missed it, here are a few shots of my December porch table. Some of these items stayed for my January decor too.

Have yourself a wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow. See you then!

I Miss Your Face

Happy Thursday!

Lately I've been attracted to some bright (almost neon) color schemes. I wanted to try to create something using my new found obsession.

I used an older technique which included making an ink blended background with intense colors. Then I chose my Open Rings stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and covered the background with Black Soot Distress Oxide ink through the stencil.

The exciting part was removing the stencil and revealing those great big circles. Oh my! The rest was easy - trim the background and mat it. Then I added the sentiment strips from Taylored Expressions and called it done!

Have a great day and I'll see you again on Friday.

Color Throwdown Challenge #629 - You Make My Heart Happy

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge #629. It's Valentine's week, so pink, red, black and white are this week's beautiful colors.

I chose an older die for my focal point. It is the Entwined Hearts from My Favorite Things. At first I used red card stock, but it just didn't seem like enough, so I decided to add a layer of red glittered card stock and that did the trick. I laid it on top of my stenciled rectangles from Simon Says Stamp and added the sentiment and a few black heart sequins to finish out my card.
