Birthday Wishes

Hello Sunday Friends!

Here is a simple little birthday card with one of my favorite combinations - black and white plus ANYTHING.  I love the graphic feel of black and white paired with pops of color.

Take a look at the Gina K. Designs Rose Peonies stamp set which is part of the Sunshine and Love StampTV Kit which is currently available.  You will be able to purchase this as an individual stamp set on July 5th.

Have a bright and sunshiny day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Crafting is a Work of Heart

Hello Saturday Friends!

Just a quick card to show off some cross stitching I've done.  I look for designs on Pinterest and then stitch away when I find one I like.  I especially love this rainbow heart!

The sentiment is from the Altenew Crafty Life stamp set and is perfect for this card!

Have a terrific day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Essentials by Ellen June Color Trend Challenge - Great Big Sweetest Thanks

Hello Thursday Friends!

Did you pop over from the Ellen Hutson Blog? I am glad you are here and I'm excited today to be guest designing for the Ellen Hutson June Color Trend Challenge.

This is a new inspiration challenge based on the current color trend of the month. Each month, there will be a gorgeous mood/inspiration board to inspire you. Here is the current board:

For each challenge, a random participant will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store. To be eligible, you must use Essentials by Ellen products and the photo badge as the inspiration for your project. There will be an link up on the Ellen Hutson challenge post where you can submit your projects. These challenges are a wonderful way to stretch your crafting skills and to also share your inspiration with others.  Use whatever inspires you from this board to make your project and then be sure to link it up for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate.
I love making shaker cards, so I decided to die cut some of the words into my card and fill each with beautiful sequins.  I also die cut the word BIG into the card and then filled in the space with the same letters ink blended with Altenew Forest Glades ink.  Because the surface was flat, I was able to stamp over it which I think added some extra fun texture.  I used the same ink to color the green frame that surrounds my focal point.  I love doing this when I need just the right color!

I filled each word with sequins and purposely used enough so that the sequins would FILL the space rather than shake.  Just something different!

These are the products I used for today's project:

Have a terrific day and I'll be right back here tomorrow!  See you then!

Color Throwdown Challenge #498 - Thanks

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are light pink, hot pink, green and peach.  This was a fun color group to try!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I used the Floral Squares from Pinkfresh Studio.  This is a set of four dies and they are just beautiful when cut.  I taped together a bunch of strips in the challenge colors and then die cut them using the daisy die.  I saw Jennifer McGuire do this and thought I'd give it a try.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like.  Be sure to check out all the samples the designers have created for us. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Go Be Brave

Hello Tuesday Friends!

This Semi Circle Turnabout stamp set from Concord and 9th appealed to me the moment I saw it.  I've used it in lots of color combinations so far, but this one just makes my eyes light up - it is so bright and cheerful!

I added a Lawn Fawn flower to my sentiment and off in the mail it went!

Have a fantastic day!

I am using an older stamp set from Concord and 9th today.  It is called Orange You Sweet.  I can't resist fruit stamp sets for some reason!  They just make me smile.

Here's a look at this super fun set:

Time Out Challenge #111 - Happy Father's Day

Hello Sunday Friends!

First of all, happy Father's Day to all those dads who treasure their children no matter how young or old, sweet or sassy, lovable or not so much.  I am married to such a man and all my sons and my one son in law fit this description.  They are all great dads.

I am sending my card over to Time Out Challenges today. The challenge is Holiday - so what better holiday than the one that is right here and right now!   Here is the theme banner:

By the way, this is as close to a one layer card as I'll ever get.  It WAS one layer until I added the Washi tape.  Oh well, no bonus points for me!

I hope you have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Color Throwdown Challenge #497 - You Really Made My Day

Welcome Saturday Friends!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are coral, blue, yellow and green.  What a fun color palette!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I used the Sparkle Dot Patterns #1 stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh.  It is relaxing to add the colored pearls onto the stamped pattern!  I colored my pearls using Copic markers because I didn't have any in the required colors.  This is an easy way to make custom colored pearls.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like.  Be sure to check out all the samples the designers have created for us. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #15 - You're Fabulous

Happy Monday!

I discovered a fun new (to me) challenge today so I am sending my card over to Three Amigos Blog Hop Challenge #15.

This month's challenge is to use a die cut machine.  Well, everything on my card except the background was cut with my Big Shot, so I guess this one is good to go!

I used dies from Pretty Pink Posh, Lawn Fawn and Spellbinders today.  I hope you like how it all came together!

See you tomorrow my friends!

I Love You

Happy Sunday!

Has anyone told you that they love you today?  If not, let me be the first!

I made the background of this card by masking off striped areas and then filling them in with inks from Gina K. Designs.  I wanted a bright landing spot for my Copic colored image, also from Gina K. Designs.

The floral stamp is from a set called, "You Make Me Smile".  Here is a look:

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll plan to see you again tomorrow!

A Giveaway for My Blog Readers!

Happy Tuesday!

Recently I was blessed with some lovely stamps (some used), dies and supplies.  And I would like to share my good fortune with you.  The stamp and die above were duplicates of ones I already owned.  There is some light staining on the dahlia stamp, but it is still totally perfect for stamping.

I am giving away the Concord and 9th Dahlia Turnabout stamp and die, a package of 3D Foam Sheets and a jar of Gina K. Designs Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.

I will also be sending you the two cards pictured above.  Here is a closer look at each:

If you would like to enter this giveaway, leave me a comment below and tell me your favorite stamp set in the whole wide world.  It will be fun to read your responses.

I will choose a random number Friday night at 10pm.  I will announce the winner in my Saturday morning blog post.  I will also announce it on Facebook...you can find me RIGHT HERE.  If I pick the number that coincides with your comment, I will contact you right after I announce the winner.  So please include your email address in your comment.

If you are chosen, I will ask for your address and send your package to you on Monday morning.

Good luck all and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Deepest Sympathy

Hello Monday!!

I hope your weekend was fantastic and included some creative time!

Today's card uses the Flourishing Fuchsias stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh.  This is just a gorgeous stamp and die set!  I took some extra time on this card because it was for a very special family.  No card, no words, no platitudes can be effective when a sudden loss is suffered.  But over time healing begins.  I think that is why we send condolence cards - to stand in the gap before the healing begins.

Enjoy your day, craft if you can, and hug your loved ones just a few more times than usual.
