Be Like the Bee...Fly Despite the Risks

Happy Thursday!

Today I am showcasing some products from our most recent release. Picket Fence Studios is known for its unique style and product innovation and I am so proud to be part of this team!

Making slim line cards has become easier with all of the new dies on the market. I made this card right before the PFS Slim Line Die Cutting System was released - but it would have been easier if I had already gotten it! So I am going to link it below. I have it now and I highly recommend it!

I wanted my bees to be colored like a rainbow, so I decided to use a new slim line stencil in rainbow colors for the background to tie it together. It was so much fun to make this card!

I hope you have a marvelous day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #616 - Autumn Blessings

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this pretty inspiration photo which includes kraft, cream and cranberry:

I stamped my focal image which is from Impression Obsession and then colored it with Copic markers. I knew I wanted a small raised panel on my card, so I chose the Autumn Blessings sentiment from MFT Stamps as it fit perfectly. I think this is truly my style - clean and simple. But I do like to create out of the box too. It's a fun mix for me and I never know what I'll choose from day to day!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! You have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Brighter Skies are on the Way

Happy Tuesday!

Today's card was inspired by one we did at Stamp Joy a few weeks ago. I've changed it up just a little so I could put my own spin on it, but the stripes were definitely Stamp Joy inspired!

I used card stock strips cut from the Taylored Expressions Bold paper pack and adhered them to a small white panel. I added three more to go across the card under my panel. The cloud image and sentiment are from the Brighter Skies stamp set. There is also a coordinating die set.

To finish my card I selected a few Copic markers to fill in the hearts and the bow and then added some Stickles and tiny googly eyes.

I hope you like today's card. I've linked my supplies below in case you are in a shopping mood. See you tomorrow!

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Happy Moday!

I thought I'd start the week with an unusual Christmas card. I don't know exactly why I decided to use these colors but once I got started I couldn't stop. I stamped all of the stockings with no real plan for color, but then I grabbed a bunch of tiny icons from various sets I have and all of a sudden there was a ton of color...so I went with it!

I've linked below the products I used in case you want a closer took. I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then

Hey There Pumpkin

Happy Sunday!

I decided to try some no line coloring today. Every once in a while I think I can master this skill. But I'm not there yet This was probably my 5th attempt at this image...and it's certainly not perfect.

But I am ok with trying hard things! So I proceeded. The images are from MFT Stamps and the mini slim line dies are from Taylored Expressions. I thought about adding some sequins, but in the end I liked the simplicity of this card. I'll link below the products I used in case you want to take a closer look.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Color Hues The Color Challenge #TCH #4 - Fall is the Best Season of All

Happy Saturday!

I am sending my card over the the Color Hues The Color Challenge blog today for their newest challenge which is to use blue and orange.

I've had this Stamp Market stamp set for months and decided this was its day to shine. The colors seemed like a school's fall football team's colors to me...so I went with a bright blue and a bright orange!

This card was just an exercise in lining up stamps...but with the MISTI it was easy. It only took me two tries to get the look I wanted. I am obsessed with mini slim cards right now, so I used my Taylored Expressions dies to make that happen. Easy Peasy!

I love how bright and cheerful this card is and I hope you like it too. I'll be back tomorrow, so I'll see you then!

Warm Winter Wishes

Happy Friday!

As promised, here is my second card using this set from Taylored Expressions. It has no coloring on it at all and is easily reproduced using a Misti. It would take a few set ups, but it would be worth it!

I used Cherry Pop, Cilantro and Cookie Monster inks for my images and then Oreo for the sentiments and snowflakes. I really like adding in black to most of my designs.

I have linked the products below that I used in case you are in a shopping mood! I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then.

Color Throwdown Challenge #615 - Hello

Happy Thursday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this fall inspiration photo which includes orange, black and kraft:

This past week I ordered the Taylored Expressions Seasonal Sprig stamp set and stencils and I am so glad I did. I also ordered the Shiplap Background which I feel certain will become a staple for me. I stamped my image and sentiment in Oreo ink and then covered it with Versamark and clear embossing powder. I used the stencil set to create the orange berries and the kraft leaves. I could have colored everything in, but using the stencil was so much quicker and easier!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! You have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Picket Fence Studios October Release

Happy Wednesday!

Can you believe we are almost half way through October? WOW! But first we have to celebrate the newest release from Picket Fence Studios. And it is a great one - full of diverse stamps, dies and stencils.

Today I wanted to share two cards from the new release featuring two of the three new leaf dies. First of all is the Ash Leaves Die set.

I pulled out some watercolor paper and smooshed some Distress inks onto a large sheet. I added water periodically to get various shades of each color. Once dry, I cut out as many leaves as I could - both large and small. I arranged them on my slim line card along with a frame cut from the same paper. I added sequins and my sentiment to finish my card.

Here is my second card -very different and very shiny:

I used the new Maple Leaves dies.

I covered a sheet of toner paper with silver foil and ran it through my Minc. The shine on these leaves is just so pretty! I decided to form a wreath with these leaves and I love how it turned out. I added my sentiment and a few sequins to finish up my card. These foiled leaves would be beautiful on home decor items too. I am going to add some to a few of my pumpkins!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting me today. I hope you will take a look at the entire release at Picket Fence Studios. I've linked the items I used below.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Merry Christmas

Happy Tuesday!

This past weekend I attended (virtually) Taylored Expressions' Stamp Joy. What a wonderful event. Taylor and her team did a marvelous job showing us lots of new techniques and keeping us very busy making cards for two days. I loved it! I was able to enjoy the retreat with my friend Jalayne who lives about two hours away.

When I got home, my most recent order had arrived and I just couldn't wait to make a few Christmas cards. This is the first one I made and then I couldn't stop...so I'll show you another one on Friday using this same set but with a no coloring option.

I am linking the products I used below and I think you may want to purchase some of them too. The Christmas release is truly awesome!

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

There is Strength in Sisterhood

Happy Monday!

Have you ordered your Picket Fence Studios Slim Line Diecutting System yet? I have one word for it: AMAZING! You can make 256 different card fronts using this system and I think you will love it! And I bet there will be add ons to this set too. Take a look:

I used the birch tree square die to make my three openings. I added a bit of shadowing to each tree. Then I colored and slipped in three images from this set which is called, BFF Girl Gang:

I used the larger rectangle to make a mat for my smaller rectangle and then added my creation to a brown slim line card. Of course first I had to add some sequins and my sentiment!

So that's it for me today. I had a blast creating today's card and I hope you feel inspired to try it. You can see these products and so much more by visiting Picket Fence Studios today. I have linked the products I used below in case you are in a shopping mood! See you tomorrow!

BOO - Happy Halloween to You

Happy Sunday!

Want a quick way to make a bunch of cards? Use napkins! This one is from Dollar Tree and came 18 to a package. I was able to get two panels from each napkin.

To adhere the napkin to card stock, I made this stack (from the bottom up): my glass mat, parchment paper, white card stock, a piece of cling wrap, my napkin and then another piece of parchment paper over top. I used my Cricut EasyPress Mini and pressed everything together. You can use a dry iron as well. The paper stuck so beautifully to the card stock and it has a very soft feel.

I die cut my BOO letters from glitter paper using the Pretty Pink Posh Boo die. I've had this in my stash for a while and it was time to use it again. The sub-sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Will you give the napkin technique a try? It's very addicting! I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then!

You Make My Heart Happy

Happy Saturday!

I've been studying more cards made by Yana Smakula. She recently showed us how to color white flowers so I needed to give it a try - and it is soooo easy! Be sure to check out Yana's blog. You won't be disappointed!

I used the Spring Flowers background stamp from Simon Says Stamp with Memento black ink so I could color with Copic markers. Each flower was colored with a cool grey marker and then the leaves, flower centers, and berries were colored in with just two shades each. Then I filled in the background using RV10. This light pink is so perfect for floral backgrounds.

I added one Taylored Expressions Simple Strip and a few sequins to finish my card. If you feel like shopping, be sure to check out the products I used below.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Hues The Color Challenge #TCH #3 - With Deepest Sympathy

Happy Friday!

I am sending another card over the the Color Hues The Color Challenge blog today for their current challenge which is to use Gold and Cream

Like my first card, I decided to go old school for my background paper. I used the Brutus Monroe Vintage Tapestry embossing folder on Bazzill card stock to get a very soft textured background. I gold heat embossed my Simon Says Stamp Etched Eucalyptus Wreath and adhered it to my card front. I added a Taylored Expressions Simple Strip and some pearls to finish my card.

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Happy Halloween

Happy Thursday!

I needed one more Halloween card so of course I turned to my favorite theme - rainbows and ghosts!

All of my products today are from Taylored Expressions. I adore the mini slim line size of this card. Taylor is so clever to have come up with this new card size!

I am going to link all the products below in case you want to take a closer look.

Color Throwdown Challenge #614 - With Deepest Sympathy

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this gorgeous inspiration photo which includes purple, green and kraft:

I've been waiting to use this beautiful stamp from Impression Obsession and today's the day! It stamps the most beautiful dahlia with a Pointillism vibe. I can't wait to stamp it in a variety of colors!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

You are not Alone

Happy Tuesday!

It's no secret that I love using the new Taylored Expressions Fall Foliage Stamp and Stencil Combo. I just want to blend those leaves in EVERY color.

I stamped the background of stems and dots. Then I applied ink over each of the three stencils to form the leaves. This time I used Cupcake, Candy Corn and Lime Zest. I like to use Bristol paper when I ink blend as it takes the ink so well. To finish my card I added three Simple Strips which is something else I think is fun.

I hope you have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

You Are So Loved

Happy Monday!

How about something fairly non-traditional? The focal point of this card is made from an IKEA napkin. I stumbled upon a video by my friend Tracy Pounds about "napkinizing" and my brain exploded!

I bought these napkins the last time I went to IKEA:

Since I had quite a few already, I didn't have anything to lose. And the technique I used worked really well on card stock. I had no idea going in if this would work.

The paper stuck so beautifully to the card stock! And it felt like fabric. After that I die cut it and adhered it to my card front using my Xyron machine. Total stickiness on the back of the card stock is key to a good application to the card front. I decided to color the background a soft pink with a Copic marker and then add black dots with a paint pen.

Since doing this one card I have also done this technique using Cling Wrap. It also works perfectly! If you click on Tracy's name above, it will take you to the video she posted. She used a different technique, but the results were fantastic too!

So have a great day - be creative - and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Hot Stuff

Happy Sunday!

I hadn't made a shaker card in quite a while and I thought it just might be time. I used a layered stencil from A Colorful Life Designs and had great fun with it. I had red hot chili peppers in no time at all!

I framed my shaker window with a die from Sunny Studios and then added my sentiment and balloon, both from Taylored Expressions.

Sometimes the most complex looking cards really aren't. This is one of them! Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.
