Memorial Day Thank You

Happy Monday!

It's Memorial Day so I say thanks to all those who died for our country. What greater sacrifice is there?

I also want to give a nod to the signaling of summer. Perhaps it will look different, but we can hope for some warm sunny days at the lake.

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Hello Friend

Happy Thursday!

Do you love simple, graphic designs? Me too. They are my go to, but they require extra precision because of their clean style.

The Hello Friend was a free download and could be printed in any size or orientation. The cacti and sub-sentiment are from the Mini Never Desert You Cactus Set from Flora and Fauna. I am a sucker for their mini sets and I think this one was a free gift with purchase.

Just so you know...I won't ever desert you either! See you tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #594 - I'm So Proud of You

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes grey, white and yellow:

I used the new Altenew Blossom Wreath to make my card. There are layering stamps to make the coloring easier, but I wanted to use Copics on this wreath and it was super quick. I also did a bit of letterpress on the bottom of the card for interest.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. Be sure to take a look at what the designers have for us this week. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

I Miss You

Happy Tuesday!

I colored this digital image called All in This Together so very simply, but I love how it turned out. There have been so many lovely people sharing free digital images during this time, and this one was offered by Three Room Studio.

But I really do miss my friends and this card is off in the mail to a very special one!

I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then.

Best Dad Ever

Hello Monday Friends!

Today I want to share with you a great new Picket Fence Studios stamp set called Dad's Day. Take a look:

Can you believe all the built in shading in that hamburger? It was an absolute dream to color. I used a combination of Karin and Copic markers. I added the main sentiment and then the sub-sentiment to make it even more personal. I plan to give this card to my husband for Father's Day so I wanted the perfect sentiment and I think I found it right in this set!

I hope you enjoyed today's card. It is my PASSION to create and share with you. You can see this set plus so much more by visiting Picket Fence Studios today.

See you again tomorrow!

Congrats

Happy Sunday!

Once again I am using the Blooms stamp set from Concord and 9th. I think this would be a good card for graduation. I paired it with the Fill It In Sentiments set from The Ton and love how it turned out.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

HBD - Calories Don't Count

Happy Saturday!

As promised, here is the card I talked about in Friday's post. I didn't have to cut or watercolor anything new. I just used the leftover pieces from the original shaker die cut I showed you yesterday.

I stamped a background from the MFT Stamps Birthdays Take the Cake stamp set as well as the sub-sentiment. I added a bit of coloring and a few enamel dots to finish my card.

Making two cards with the effort of making one is brilliant. I plan to do this more often!

I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then!

HBD - Celebrate

Happy Friday!

During one of the recent Online Card Classes one of the lessons was about shaker die cuts placed in a window on the inside of the card. I knew I had to give it a try.

I water colored a panel and cut it out using a rectangle die. Then I made a window in the card front with a slightly larger rectangle. I placed my shaker die cut into the window and framed it with a tiny border from the original panel. I LOVE this look!

I added some enamel dots and a sentiment and this card was done. Tomorrow I will show you a companion card using some of the same elements.

See you then.

LIVE from Picket Fence Studios - Our May Release

Happy Thursday!

I am excited to share two cards with you today from the brand new Picket Fence Studios May Release.

The first stamp I used is called Bird of Paradise. I was a little nervous to color this one because I am still new at water coloring, but I decided to give it a try using the new to me Karin Markers. The ink is so intense and easy to blend. I actually was pleased with how it turned out. And because the images already have great shading built in, the process was painless!

Here is a look at the stamp:

Next up I used the Exotic Leaves stamp set. I white heat embossed the entire image onto the white card stock. Since I had good luck with the Karin Markers already, I used them again - this time to make a rainbow directly over the leaves. I am totally sold on this technique! I used the "Don't be scared to use the whole box of crayons" sentiment from the Broken Crayons set to finish my card.

Be sure to visit Picket Fence Studios to see all of the new stamps, stencils and dies. If you would like to see the entire release, you can click right here.

I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then!

Color Throwdown Challenge #593 - Your Strength is Inspiring

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes pink, yellow and blue. What a fun springtime combination!

I used the Simon Says Stamp Winter Floral Layering Stencil set to make my card. This set has four layers which makes it so easy to stamp each element with no overlapping colors. Speaking of colors, I used all Gina K. Designs inks. So delicious!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. Be sure to take a look at what the designers have for us this week. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

Hang in There

Happy Tuesday!

I started thinking about my young friends who have just a few weeks of school left. And of course school takes place at home now which I think is hard on most everyone involved!

I decided to make this card for a special friend who is a junior in high school. I had already colored this image from The Ton and was looking for a way to put it to good use. I thought the Mini Hang in There Plant set from Flora and Fauna would be perfect.  The plant and sentiment are stamped on the inside of the card and the girl with the books is glued to the outside.

I hope you like this pairing. It makes me smile!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Embrace the Day

Happy Monday!

I love this sentiment! We don't have tomorrow promised, so embracing each day is the way to live.

This large flower is from Picket Fence Studios. I tried my hand at water coloring it and really did enjoy the process. I obviously need more practice, but I'm good with that.

Here is a picture of the Face the Sun stamp set:

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Here is our inspiration challenge board:

There is still plenty of time to join in the fun at Altenew because this challenge doesn't end until May 31, 2020. Play along if you can...there are prizes to be won! You can see all the products I used (and so much more) by visiting the Altenew site.

Forgiveness is Freedom

Happy Thursday!

I made today's card using the Leaves and Flowers stencil from Picket Fence Studios. I paired it with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink which is the most perfect ink color on the planet - at least for me anyway!

Here is a look at the stencil:

I can see so many ways to use this stencil and I can't wait to show you a few in the near future. Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Color Throwdown Challenge #592 - Hello Beautiful

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes aqua, teal, grey and gold. It took me a good while to create a card incorporating these colors. But it finally came together.

I used the Pineapples and Smiles stamp set from Catherine Pooler as my focal image. I think the grey and the gold threw me for a loop, but eventually, thanks to some grey patterned paper, I was able to complete my card.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. Wait until you see the wonderful projects the design team has for us. Take a look and you will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

Do What Makes Your Soul Shine

Happy Tuesday!

I was putting away some stamp sets and I realized I wanted to use this one from Pinkfresh Studio at least one more time. The flowers are from the Simple Blossoms set and of course I wanted to make a rainbow card.

I added the sentiment from the Pinkfresh Studio My Favorite Things to Say set. I guess flower rainbows make my soul shine!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Happy Birthday - You Get to Lick the Spoon

Happy Monday!

I am using two stamps sets from The Ton today to make a birthday card. I have already used both sets numerous times, but that is a good thing!

I added in the spoon and sentiment from a birthday set by MFT Stamps. Mixing it up is fun!

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

How to Color Your Hair When Quarantined

Happy Thursday!

I don't know about you, but this quarantine hair thing has gotten out of hand at my house. I don't color my hair, but I do wear it very short. And it is cut for one style only!

Needless to say, I no longer have a style. I just have a lot of hair that looks terrible! But since I am not going anywhere, I guess I can last a little longer!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Embrace the Day

Hello Monday Friends!

I am on the Picket Fence Studios blog today showcasing this wonderful stamp set with matching dies called Ponchatoula Strawberries.

Take a look at both:

I was a little nervous coloring the strawberries because red Copic markers can be a challenge, but with the built in shading of the stamp I was able to get some pretty tasty strawberries to appear!

You can see these items plus so much more by visiting Picket Fence Studios today.

Have a terrific day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Hello Sweet Boy

Happy Sunday!

Isn't this the cutest baby boy face ever? I love his smile!! This set is from Picket Fence Studios and is called Baby Boy of All Seasons. I wanted him to be the total star of the show, so I made a simple stenciled background using the Knots Scales stencil.

Even with the coloring this was a super quick card to put together. Sometimes we all need that!

Have a terrific day and I'll see you again tomorrow.
