Time Out Challenge #113 - Smile, It's Your Day

Hello Friday Friends!

I am sending my card over to Time Out Challenges today. The challenge is to use the word SMILE in your card.  Here is the theme banner:

I bought the Avery Elle set called Sea-prise not too long ago.  My grandson used the shark image on a birthday card for his dad yesterday.  While it was out on my desk, I couldn't resist using the same image on a card to share today.  That shark just makes me laugh.  I think it's his party hat!!  I glittered up the word smile, the party hat and the bright red area of his mouth.  I just could not resist!

I hope you have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Color Throwdown Challenge #501 - Live It Up

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are yellow, grey white and kraft.

And here is the inspiration photo:

I was at a total loss as to how these colors could work together.  But I was looking through some of my most recent digital downloads and came upon this cake.  Somehow it just all came together in my mind!  I would do a chocolate cake with yellow frosting.  Of course greys make the perfect metallic looking cake plate!

By the way, this image is from Power Poppy.  They recently had a big sale and I purchased a few of their designs.  They are always drawn so beautifully and are hard for me to resist!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like - this is just the first day.  Be sure to check out all the samples the designers have created for us. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Gina K. Designs Hot Summer Release - Part 1 - Day 1

Happy Monday!

What a great day to start our Gina K. Designs two day blog hop!  Today and tomorrow we will be featuring the newest sets from some of our wonderful illustrators.  In a few weeks, we will be sharing more beautiful stamp sets and samples from more of our talented illustrators!  This release is so fantastic, we had to celebrate twice!

This is Melanie's new set called This Girl Is:

The large sentiments alone are enough for one big stamp set, but this one is also packed with beautiful hand drawn images and smaller supporting sentiments.  Here is a card I made using this set:

Next we have Beth's set, Unicorn Wishes:

This set is just too cute for words. Yet, there are plenty of precious sentiments and hand drawn images to make just about any one's dreams come true! This is a card I made using just the rainbow and one sentiment:

For this hop there are two $50 Gina K. Designs gift certificates up for grabs.  You could be a winner by visiting and commenting on each designer's post (links below)  To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV on Friday.

Color Throwdown Challenge #500 - Oh the Places You'll Go

Happy Saturday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are navy, light pink, white and gold.  I've been wanting to use a globe stamp and die set, so I decided this was the day!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I used the Glorious Globes Basics stamp set from PaperTrey Ink.  I used the die set as well.  My stripes look black in the photo, but they really are navy as are the books.  Sometimes to catch gold shine, other colors suffer a bit!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like.  Be sure to check out all the samples the designers have created for us. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

Of All the Flavors, You're the Sweetest

Hello Friday Friends!

I used the new Reveal Wheel die set (again!!) with the Sweetest Flavor stamps and dies.  I told you before that I can't stop using it and it is still true!  Instead of coloring images on the wheel, I used different patterned papers in each quadrant.  I love how summery this card is.  I can't decide where to mail this one yet...but I have a few ideas.

Have a terrific Friday and I'll be back again with more inspiration tomorrow.

Kindness Matters

Happy Monday!

Lately I've been a bit obsessed with quilt patterns.  I think it is because I have started cross stitching again and I run into fun quilt patterns on Pinterest.

I used the Quilted Summer die set from PaperTrey Ink to make my card.  The red and blue triangles are stamped and the green is card stock.  I absolutely love this color combination as it makes me think of fun summer days.

Have a wonderful summer day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Both sets are from Gina K. Designs.  The first is called Thank You Friend:

For the sentiment I used a set called Lettered and Lovely:

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #31 - Have a Magical Day

Happy Friday!

Today I'm sending my card over to challenge #31 at Lawn Fawnatics. This time our challenge is flowers, floral and foliage.

I used the new Reveal Wheel die set (again!!) with the Fairy Friends stamps and dies.  I told you yesterday that I can't stop using it!!  My colorful flowers are in a continuous circle so no matter how you turn the wheel, you see cute little tulips.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawnatics blog to see all the fun inspiration for this challenge.  You will love the design team inspiration.

Instead of Texting, I Made this Card

Hello Thursday Friends!

Today's card is heavily inspired by one Jennifer McGuire posted a while back.  She die cut the envelope and paper and then cut a square into the paper so the images would be visible when the wheel is spun.  You can see her card here.  I just had to give that a try and it wasn't hard at all.

I sent this card to my son Scott because we text back and forth a lot.  This was his birthday card this year.  Scott is an amazing artist, so I only send cards to him that are worthy of HIS talent!

I am smitten with this Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel set.  Just this week I made three more of this type  of card.  They are really easy to put together and of course the sky is the limit when using images you already own.

Have a terrific day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #499 - Happy Bird-Day

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are blue, yellow and green.  I love this combination and couldn't wait to get started!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I used the Tropical Vibes stamp set from Flora and Fauna.  I was inspired by a card that Yana Smakula made a week or so ago.  If you haven't discovered her yet, be sure to look her up on YouTube.  Her videos are spectacular and her talent is too!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like.  Be sure to check out all the samples the designers have created for us. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

Where Creativity Meets C9 Challenge - Thanks

Happy Tuesday!

Here is my card for this month's Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge   The theme this time is SPARKLE AND SHINE.  I used the Retro Petals Turnabout Stencil Bundle to make my pretty flowers.  Despite all the steps, this really was a simple card to make.

To make my flowers sparkle, I used Nuvo Glitter Paste.  I'm certainly not an expert with this product, but I did have fun using it through the stencil.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Essentials by Ellen June Color Trend Challenge - Great Big Sweetest Thanks

Hello Thursday Friends!

Did you pop over from the Ellen Hutson Blog? I am glad you are here and I'm excited today to be guest designing for the Ellen Hutson June Color Trend Challenge.

This is a new inspiration challenge based on the current color trend of the month. Each month, there will be a gorgeous mood/inspiration board to inspire you. Here is the current board:

For each challenge, a random participant will receive a $50 gift certificate to the Ellen Hutson store. To be eligible, you must use Essentials by Ellen products and the photo badge as the inspiration for your project. There will be an link up on the Ellen Hutson challenge post where you can submit your projects. These challenges are a wonderful way to stretch your crafting skills and to also share your inspiration with others.  Use whatever inspires you from this board to make your project and then be sure to link it up for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate.
I love making shaker cards, so I decided to die cut some of the words into my card and fill each with beautiful sequins.  I also die cut the word BIG into the card and then filled in the space with the same letters ink blended with Altenew Forest Glades ink.  Because the surface was flat, I was able to stamp over it which I think added some extra fun texture.  I used the same ink to color the green frame that surrounds my focal point.  I love doing this when I need just the right color!

I filled each word with sequins and purposely used enough so that the sequins would FILL the space rather than shake.  Just something different!

These are the products I used for today's project:

Have a terrific day and I'll be right back here tomorrow!  See you then!

Color Throwdown Challenge #498 - Thanks

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. The colors are light pink, hot pink, green and peach.  This was a fun color group to try!

Here is the inspiration photo:

I used the Floral Squares from Pinkfresh Studio.  This is a set of four dies and they are just beautiful when cut.  I taped together a bunch of strips in the challenge colors and then die cut them using the daisy die.  I saw Jennifer McGuire do this and thought I'd give it a try.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like.  Be sure to check out all the samples the designers have created for us. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!
