Color Throwdown Challenge #566 - You Make My Heart Happy

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for the current Color Throwdown challenge based on this color palette which includes orange, grey and cream. This is a color palette that would never have entered my thought process, but I have to say I really enjoyed using it! The colors turned out to be quite stunning when used together.

My floral images are from the Floral Art stamp set and the sentiment is from the Weekend Doodles set - both from Altenew.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. Wait until you see the gorgeous projects crafted by the design team. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Altenew October Inspiration Challenge - Time to Smile

Happy Tuesday

Today I am sending my card over to thAltenew October Inspiration Challenge. I used the new Delicate Tiles stamp set for my border. It's a bit tricky, but worth the time to get it right!

Here is our inspiration photo:

There is still time to join in the fun at Altenew! And I'll be here again tomorrow so I hope to see you then!

I Freaking Love You

Happy Monday!

It's my day over on the Picket Fence Studios blog!

I have once again fallen in love with stencils. And PFS has some of the most unique ones on the market...like this Ring of Flowers stencil. It has such amazing detail and can be inked up as a rainbow (YAY!) or inked with any number of colors. I love the soft look of it and will be imagining other ways to use it soon. Of course the Life Changing Blending Brushes in various sizes are so helpful - especially the little ones that I used on this card.

I felt like using one large sentiment with this design was a must. So I chose this one from the I Freaking Love You stamp set. I added a few sequins and called this card done!

Here is a look at the stencil and stamp set I used:

You can find all of these (and so many more!!) great stamps, dies and stencils at Picket Fence Studios. Be sure to take a look today.

Have a wonderful and creative day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

You are Freaking Fabulous

Believe in Yourself

Happy Saturday!

The other day I discovered a technique on YouTube that I fell for instantly. It uses color bursts and layered stamps. I had to give it a try.

But first, let me link you to the talented Maureen Wong who always comes up with the best ideas! Here is the video I watched on YouTube.

Basically you sprinkle the powder onto the first layering stamp, spritz it with water and stamp it using the MISTI. When it is dry, you use the MISTI to stamp the detail layering stamp. Brilliant! But be sure to watch her video because she shows exactly what to do!

I had so much fun making this card that I made another similar one which I will show you tomorrow.

Have a terrific day!

Leaves are Falling, Coffee is Calling

Happy Friday!

You know you love a stamp set when you create six cards in one sitting in all the colors you can imagine! This wasn't the very first one I made, but it is my favorite. I will be sharing the other five cards with you soon.

I want to show you the stamp set so you can see how clever the layering on the coffee cup and spoon is. The set is called Cozy Cup and it also has a matching die set.

I hope you like today's card. I can't wait to show you more cards using this set. See you tomorrow!

I Like Your Different Colors

Happy Thursday!

Rainbow-ing all the things is one of my favorite techniques and this image from Picket Fence Studios was perfect for today's coloring with Copic markers.

I used the French Braids stamp and die for my image and a sentiment from the Charlie the Chameleon  stamp set. I love how perfect they are for each other!

For my background I used the Woven Plaid background stamp from Concord and 9th. I have stamped this in so many colors already and I love the look of it! If you haven't seen this stamp set, here is a picture for you:

Have a color-filled day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #565 - Please Accept our Deepest Sympathy

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for the current Color Throwdown challenge based on this color palette which includes grey, lavender and black. I wasn't sure what to do with this color combination, but I soldiered on.

I knew I wanted to use the Large Leaves die from The Stamp Market. So I cut some out of each color. It took a few creative tries, but I finally found a design I liked. So I adhered the skeleton leaves and then randomly added some of the inside pieces. I added the sentiment which is from Picket Fence Studios.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. Wait until you see the gorgeous projects crafted by the design team. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

Here is a look at the products I used:

Next up I followed the LOVE theme and made this card:

I used the Triangle Collage stencil again and added the Love Ya word die. I used the sentiment from the Lorynne stamp set below.

It's Release Day at Picket Fence Studios!

Happy Monday!

Picket Fence Studios is ready to share the October release with you today and it is live right now! You can shop the entire collection right here. You are going to love the diversity of this month's release.

My very first card features the set called Ballerina Friends

These sweet girls are fun to color, but I decided to give them a different look. I cut masks for all of the images and then ink blended my background. Then I stamped all the girls into their spaces.

Here is a look at the stamps and dies:

Next up I stamped and die cut Charlie the Chameleon. He is just so much fun as a rainbow chameleon! I added the rainbow behind him and attached him with an Action Wobbler so he can bend down to eat his termites.

Here is a look at the products I used for this card:

I will be sharing more cards and products from this release tomorrow. Awe heck - maybe all week! I'll look forward to seeing you right here!

Sending Smiles Across the Miles

Happy Sunday!

I just received this layered stencil from Taylored Expressions and I thought I would put it to work. There are three layers, but it is simple to line up. I guess it is supposed to be done in Christmas colors, but I'm not quite ready for that, so I used fall colors instead.

I added my layered bird from The Greetery with a few sequins and a sentiment and called this one done!

I hope you have a beautiful day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Color Throwdown Challenge #564 - Forever Grateful

Happy Saturday!

Here is my card for the current Color Throwdown challenge based on this beautiful color palette which includes red, yellow and brown

I used stencils from A Colorful Life Designs and just started inking using red, yellow and brown inks from Gina K. Designs. The sentiment is from Gina K. as well. We just returned from a trip to Missouri and I was so inspired by the beautiful leaf colors there. I just had to make a card with leaves!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! Wait until you see the gorgeous cards the design team has created for us this week. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Congrats

Happy Friday!

Earlier this week we were able to surprise some friends who live in Missouri. Bryan was one of our pastors and his wife Sara is the most wonderful friend. They have three boys and a little girl who is on her way.

We showed up at Life Church Springfield on Sunday morning and had a wonderful reunion with this couple whom we love so much.

I knew Sara had already been given a baby shower, so I just wanted to show our love for them with a card and a gift card. That way she can supplement all of the sweet girl outfits with whatever else she needs.

Our hearts are full after seeing them again. I hope you have dear friends like this too!

Have a great day and I'll see you right here again tomorrow!

Your Friendship Brightens my Day

Happy Tuesday!

This past summer I took a class at Stampaway with Art Impressions. It caused me to take another look at their line of stamps. I really had no idea it was so diversified.

So I found a series of square rubber stamps and I was drawn to them instantly. The images were probably meant to be water colored, but I decided to use Copic markers for this one. I have a few more that I haven't colored yet...and I may try some water coloring. I'll keep you posted!

Have a terrific day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Your Home Will Be My Home

Happy Monday!

The Greetery is fast becoming one of my favorite stamp companies. Their designs are innovative which appeals to me. I knew I needed this set because it just has so many options!

I water colored my couple and then cut them out with the coordinating dies. I placed them on a background of ink blending and the Cobblestone Path stamp from Picket Fence Studios. I absolutely love how this turned out! This is the second time I've used this set and I am already planning a third.

Have a marvelous day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Forever in my Heart

Happy Saturday!

I hope you are in the mood for some bright fall leaves! This stamp set from Gina K. Designs is truly a new favorite of mine. I absolutely love how the leaves layer together to make an explosion of color.

This set is from the Autumn Splendor card kit which is sold out, but once the new release comes out, it will be available separately and I think you will want to add it to your collection.

Have a great day and have some crafty fun! I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then.

I Love Your Kindness

Happy Friday!

Last summer I discovered a new (to me) company called A Colorful Life. They make the most beautiful and unique stencils and I am totally hooked. I used the Leaf Sprigs stencil for my background using two shades of Gina K. Designs ink.

To finish my card I used sentiments from Altenew. The  Everything About You stamp set covers just about any sentiment you could imagine! I didn't add anything else to my card because it was so sweet and simple on its own - elegant if you will.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #563 - Celebrate Fall

Happy Thursday!

Here is my card for the current Color Throwdown challenge based on this beautiful color palette which includes lavender, orange, purple and green.

I used just two stamps from the Autumn Splendor card kit from Gina K. Designs to make this card. I love the free form leaves! I heat embossed the small sentiment and then adhered letters I had die cut using a set from The Stamp Market.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! Wait until you see the gorgeous cards the design team has created for us this week. You will also find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

Autumn Banner

Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday my buddy Jalayne and I went to the assisted living to teach our little art class to our wonderful senior friends. We love going there and although they think they get the most out of our little visit, it is we who gain the bigger blessing.

We have learned over the past few years that most of our friends are limited in their artistic abilities and favor coloring, gluing and adding sparkle. This project fit the last two items.

I printed this free printable image on watercolor paper and then cut it out using my Scan n Cut. Same for the scalloped backer. I ink smooshed a bunch of watercolor paper with Distress Oxides and splattered them all with brown paint. Then I became a die cutting fool. So many leaves!! I added just a few leaves and some bling and the twine. Then we headed off to see our sweet friends with the sample banner.

They glued leaves and added bling to their hearts' content. Everyone created differently and I love that. Some had very few leaves and some had LOTS of leaves. But they all had bling and each banner was beautiful!

I hope you will have a fun and creative day. I'll be back tomorrow with another fun project for you.
