New Release from Picket Fence Studios - Fall is on its Way!

Happy Friday!

I am excited to share two cards with you today from the brand new Picket Fence Studios August Release. They are two different takes on October for sure! A little bit of Halloween and a sweet pumpkin scene.

The first stamp I used is called So Franken Cute

Next up I used the A World with Octobers stamp set. Here is a look:

Both of my cards today are heavy on the coloring side, but really easy to achieve. There is shading on each image, but it was very easy to figure out. I think my favorite is the pumpkin with just a few purple leaves. They are small...but it's what I first see when I look at this card. Adding the new sequin mix, Bourbon Maple Splash just made each card a winner for me!

Be sure to visit Picket Fence Studios to see all of the new stamps, stencils and dies - and so much more! If you would like to see the entire release, you can click right here. I have also linked the products I used in case you are in a shopping mood!

I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then!

Eat Cake and Celebrate

Happy Thursday!

I've had a few things out on my table lately and one of them was a pile of Distress Inks. What better way to put them to use than to make a rainbow grid?

I heat embossed the Taylored Expressions Grid Background stamped image and then just took all of the Distress Ink colors on my desk and smooshed them onto a slick service and added various amounts of water to each little spot of ink. Then I used my water brush and filled in the grid. Easy peasy!! I had already planned to cut it down and center it on my card base.

The rest was simple - I stamped and die cut Gus and Gerty and Copic colored them. Then I added one of my home made rainbow Simple Strips. I thought I was completely done, but then I realized this celebration called for some stars and clear sequins from my stash. THEN I was done!

Have a really great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #606 - Happy Birthday to You

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes aqua, peach and kraft.

I have linked below all the supplies I used except the tiny squares at the bottom of the card. It is part of a cover plate die...but I don't know who made it. I bought it at a destash sale a few years ago.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

It's Your Birthday!

Happy Tuesday!

I wanted to try something different with the Scribbled Rose Cling and Clear background stamp. I gold heat embossed it and then used Distress Inks to make faux watercolor flowers and leaves.

I inked up each of the flower stamps with two shades of Distress Inks each and then spritzed the stamp with some water before stamping. Each flower turned out so soft and pretty! I only used one green color on the leaves, but I also used the faux watercolor technique on them.

I got a little bit excited about the soft colors, so I painted the same watered down colors onto water color card stock and then stamped and embossed the Birthday Simple Strips onto the panel once it dried. Then I used the coordinating die to cut out all my sentiments. I have plenty left over for future cards too!

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow! Oh - and I linked everything below just in case you feel like shopping!

With All of our Love

Happy Monday!

Do you have a few of the smaller Picket Fence Studios Life Changing Blender Brushes and you wondered if you would ever use them? Well my friends, they are FABULOUS to use with detailed stencils like the Shading Flower stencil. I only used two ink colors, but managed to get some pretty shadows by using a heavier hand on parts of the image.

I added the sentiment vertically from the The Bride's Bouquet stamp set. It has such lovely sentiments and I had a hard time deciding which one to use! To finish my card I added some sequins and ink splatters. If you are looking for a beautiful image to fill your card front, you can't go wrong with this one!

You can see these products and so much more by visiting Picket Fence Studios today. I have linked the products I used below if you are in a shopping mood!

I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then!

Thinking of You During This Holiday Season

Happy Saturday!

Do you like unconventional holiday colors? Even before it became stylish, I always loved odd Christmas colors! My poor kids always lamented the lack of red and green at our house.

So now it is not unusual for me to make a mint green and pink shaker Christmas card. So a few Copic strokes and some silver embossing made for the perfect focal point for this card. I've listed the supplies I used in case you feel like shopping today!

And of course, this would look great in red and green too! See you tomorrow.

Do Something Creative Every Day

Happy Friday!

So.....I had this little hexagon die from my stash sitting on my desk and I decided I'd showcase a bit of card stock using it. At first I was going to do only colors from the Bold Collection, but it didn't pass my "eye" test. So I brought in three colors from the Earthy Collection and then I was off to the races! I cut each hexagon in half and then paired each bold color with an earthy color.

I stamped my sentiment and a few little icons onto my hexagons and all there was left to do was pop them up and add three sequins. Yes, this is very simple...but I absolutely love it.

I hope you have time to do something creative today. I have linked everything below plus the links for the brand new Taylored Expressions storage options in case you are in a shopping mood. See you tomorrow!

Does this sentiment resonate with you? It sure does with me. I miss my friends soooo much. I could TOTALLY go for some of them right now!

I've linked everything below in case you are in the mood to shop!

Color Throwdown Challenge #605 - Get Well Soon

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes red, coral, blue and white:

All of my supplies today are from Taylored Expressions. I have linked them below, but I wanted to share the Copic markers I used right here. They are also available at Taylored Expressions. R21, R22 and R27 for the coral. R32, R35 and R39 for the red. B21, B24 and B39 for the blue. I also used two shades of grey: C1 and C4. I used the B39 to color the oval mat behind the sentiment because I wanted it to match perfectly.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Hello

Happy Tuesday!

Today's card is a simple one. You can't tell from this photo, but the background is foiled with rainbow foil to mimic the rainbow pineapple. The company that made this background design is out of business now, but there are many companies that make these ready to foil cards.

My pineapple stamp and die cut combo is from Catherine Pooler Designs and the fun and curvy hello is from Picket Fence Studios. Here's to simple cards everywhere!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Early in the Morning Our Song Shall Rise to Thee

Happy Monday!

Mondays are a chance to start again and that means grace. Grace for the past and grace for this week and beyond. That is what I think of when I see this phrase from the hymn, Holy, Holy Holy.

I'm not sure how this card could be any more simple to make. I stamped the background in Blueberry and then added the sentiment. I did pop it up to give the card some dimension. I added some yellow to the highlighted cross and then a few blue sequins. I have linked the supplies I used below.

I have a friend who loves this shade of blue and also old hymns...so this card will go in the mail to her later today.

I do hope you have a wonderful start to your week. I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then.

Happy Ho Ho Ho to You

Happy Sunday!

I thought I'd throw in a bit of Christmas today for you. At the beginning of the year I always think I'll work on Christmas cards all year. Epic fail. Every year. No exceptions. But I do have a few done...

I fell in love with the contrast of these tiny images with the large black heat embossed sentiment. And I love that the tiny images are not in holiday colors. Shaking it up, I'd say! All of the stamping on today's card was done with the Ho Ho Ho stamp set from Picket Fence Studios. I noticed that the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Instagram Challenge is calling for embossing, so I'll be sharing my card there too.

I do hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow!!

Let Your Light Shine

Happy Saturday!

Let's start August off with a bright and happy card. The stencil and sentiment I used are both from my favorite company, Picket Fence Studios.

The technique is one I saw Rina K. Designs do on a video and I fell in love with it.  The first step is to ink blend a panel of white card stock. I used Distress Oxides for my blending. Once the ink is dry (like the next day), I went over the stencil with black ink. It was that simple!

I added my sentiment and some PFS sequins and then fell in love with this card! I hope you like it too.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #604 - It's Your Birthday

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes terra cotta, black and white:

I colored my little pup and bird using Altenew markers. Then I had to figure out where they would be happiest on my card and I opted for a rainbow. Who doesn't love a rainbow? I added the sentiment and the sequins and decided I was done. I love simple cards!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

You're a Peach

Happy Tuesday!

I took a trip to East Texas to visit a friend last week. When I go home my Concord and 9th and my Greetery orders had arrived. And today I spent some time with the Peachy Keen collection using the brand new inks and card stock from Concord and 9th. Oh my! What to talk about first?????

The stamp, stencils and dies from The Greetery's Peachy Keen collection are so much fun to play with. I now have peaches in quite a few (some unrealistic) colors and I love them all. I'll be sharing some of them soon.

The inks and card stock from Concord and 9th are incredible. I have never seen ink and paper match so perfectly. It was certainly worth the wait. And I love the way the inks stamp so solidly with only one pass. Yup...they are perfect.

So I do hope you have a peachy day. I'll be back tomorrow to share a new project and I'll see you then.

You Are My People

Happy Monday!

Just a reminder today that you are my people. Whether we agree on everything (????) or not, it doesn't matter. We are called to love people. So that's what I am going to do!

See you again tomorrow!

Happy Christmas to One and All

Happy Sunday!

July is almost over...but I still have some Christmas in July cards to share with you. Picket Fence Studios has some marvelous new stamps and stencils for holiday card making. I used this one for my card today:

Not only does this make a fun and easy card, I can see it on the ends of a table runner or stenciled onto a white candle. Wouldn't that be beautiful?

Have a wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow to share more.

Today is a Good Day for a Good Day

Happy Saturday!

Lately I've been loving bright colors and today is no exception.

I stamped the Pinkfresh Pop Out Chevron background stamp using the brightest colors I could find. I just can't even tell you how much I LOVE this stamp!

The little box for the sentiment was an off-cut from an earlier attempt. I just KNEW I'd find a way to not waste my mistake. I backed it with the scalloped square from Pretty Pink Posh. I added a few sequins and called this one done!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.
