Do Something Creative Every Day

Happy Friday!

So.....I had this little hexagon die from my stash sitting on my desk and I decided I'd showcase a bit of card stock using it. At first I was going to do only colors from the Bold Collection, but it didn't pass my "eye" test. So I brought in three colors from the Earthy Collection and then I was off to the races! I cut each hexagon in half and then paired each bold color with an earthy color.

I stamped my sentiment and a few little icons onto my hexagons and all there was left to do was pop them up and add three sequins. Yes, this is very simple...but I absolutely love it.

I hope you have time to do something creative today. I have linked everything below plus the links for the brand new Taylored Expressions storage options in case you are in a shopping mood. See you tomorrow!

I Could Totally Go for Some You Right Now

Happy Thursday!

Does this sentiment resonate with you? It sure does with me. I miss my friends soooo much. I could TOTALLY go for some of them right now!

I used the Simple Flowers stamp set from Altenew and Concord and 9th inks for my stamping and a stamp and die from Concord and 9th as well.

I've linked everything below in case you are in the mood to shop!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown Challenge #605 - Get Well Soon

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes red, coral, blue and white:

All of my supplies today are from Taylored Expressions. I have linked them below, but I wanted to share the Copic markers I used right here. They are also available at Taylored Expressions. R21, R22 and R27 for the coral. R32, R35 and R39 for the red. B21, B24 and B39 for the blue. I also used two shades of grey: C1 and C4. I used the B39 to color the oval mat behind the sentiment because I wanted it to match perfectly.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Hello

Happy Tuesday!

Today's card is a simple one. You can't tell from this photo, but the background is foiled with rainbow foil to mimic the rainbow pineapple. The company that made this background design is out of business now, but there are many companies that make these ready to foil cards.

My pineapple stamp and die cut combo is from Catherine Pooler Designs and the fun and curvy hello is from Picket Fence Studios. Here's to simple cards everywhere!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Early in the Morning Our Song Shall Rise to Thee

Happy Monday!

Mondays are a chance to start again and that means grace. Grace for the past and grace for this week and beyond. That is what I think of when I see this phrase from the hymn, Holy, Holy Holy.

I'm not sure how this card could be any more simple to make. I stamped the background in Blueberry and then added the sentiment. I did pop it up to give the card some dimension. I added some yellow to the highlighted cross and then a few blue sequins. I have linked the supplies I used below.

I have a friend who loves this shade of blue and also old hymns...so this card will go in the mail to her later today.

I do hope you have a wonderful start to your week. I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then.

Happy Ho Ho Ho to You

Happy Sunday!

I thought I'd throw in a bit of Christmas today for you. At the beginning of the year I always think I'll work on Christmas cards all year. Epic fail. Every year. No exceptions. But I do have a few done...

I fell in love with the contrast of these tiny images with the large black heat embossed sentiment. And I love that the tiny images are not in holiday colors. Shaking it up, I'd say! All of the stamping on today's card was done with the Ho Ho Ho stamp set from Picket Fence Studios. I noticed that the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Instagram Challenge is calling for embossing, so I'll be sharing my card there too.

I do hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow!!

Let Your Light Shine

Happy Saturday!

Let's start August off with a bright and happy card. The stencil and sentiment I used are both from my favorite company, Picket Fence Studios.

The technique is one I saw Rina K. Designs do on a video and I fell in love with it.  The first step is to ink blend a panel of white card stock. I used Distress Oxides for my blending. Once the ink is dry (like the next day), I went over the stencil with black ink. It was that simple!

I added my sentiment and some PFS sequins and then fell in love with this card! I hope you like it too.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Happy Thursday!

Joy Clair Designs is having a wonderful blog hop today and I hope you will join in the fun!

Color Throwdown Challenge #604 - It's Your Birthday

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes terra cotta, black and white:

I colored my little pup and bird using Altenew markers. Then I had to figure out where they would be happiest on my card and I opted for a rainbow. Who doesn't love a rainbow? I added the sentiment and the sequins and decided I was done. I love simple cards!

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

You're a Peach

Happy Tuesday!

I took a trip to East Texas to visit a friend last week. When I go home my Concord and 9th and my Greetery orders had arrived. And today I spent some time with the Peachy Keen collection using the brand new inks and card stock from Concord and 9th. Oh my! What to talk about first?????

The stamp, stencils and dies from The Greetery's Peachy Keen collection are so much fun to play with. I now have peaches in quite a few (some unrealistic) colors and I love them all. I'll be sharing some of them soon.

The inks and card stock from Concord and 9th are incredible. I have never seen ink and paper match so perfectly. It was certainly worth the wait. And I love the way the inks stamp so solidly with only one pass. Yup...they are perfect.

So I do hope you have a peachy day. I'll be back tomorrow to share a new project and I'll see you then.

You Are My People

Happy Monday!

Just a reminder today that you are my people. Whether we agree on everything (????) or not, it doesn't matter. We are called to love people. So that's what I am going to do!

See you again tomorrow!

Happy Christmas to One and All

Happy Sunday!

July is almost over...but I still have some Christmas in July cards to share with you. Picket Fence Studios has some marvelous new stamps and stencils for holiday card making. I used this one for my card today:

Not only does this make a fun and easy card, I can see it on the ends of a table runner or stenciled onto a white candle. Wouldn't that be beautiful?

Have a wonderful day and I'll be back tomorrow to share more.

Today is a Good Day for a Good Day

Happy Saturday!

Lately I've been loving bright colors and today is no exception.

I stamped the Pinkfresh Pop Out Chevron background stamp using the brightest colors I could find. I just can't even tell you how much I LOVE this stamp!

The little box for the sentiment was an off-cut from an earlier attempt. I just KNEW I'd find a way to not waste my mistake. I backed it with the scalloped square from Pretty Pink Posh. I added a few sequins and called this one done!

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow.

You're One in a Melon

Happy Friday!

I like puns and I like fruit...so this card is right up my alley!

I decided to ink up my Altenew stencil with Catherine Pooler inks in Coral Cabana, Samba, and Grass Skirt to mimic the colors  and shape of the watermelons. I added a strip of dotted paper between the Samba and the Grass Skirt and then placed my watermelons. The center one is popped up.

I didn't add any additional sentiment, but did add a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

I am sending this over to the Fusion Card Challenge where I was able to use both parts of the current challenge equation! So much fun!

I'll be back tomorrow, so I'll see you then.

Thankful for You + Some Exciting News

Happy Thursday!

Before I tell you about my card today, I have some very exciting news to share. Starting in August, I will be part of Team TE at Taylored Expressions. I am very excited to be included in this amazing group of women! I will be sharing projects a few times a week across social media and I can hardly wait to begin!

Now for my card. I used the Modern Mosaic layering stencil from Taylored Expressions. This is a gift with purchase which I will link for you. I also used the So Many Thanks stamp set for my sentiment. I was able to make the background with only two Distress Oxide ink colors - Speckled Egg and Shaded Lilac. I used a very light hand for the base layer and then a heavier application for the smaller accents. The flowers are stenciled with the Shaded Lilac. I love the soft background with the bold sentiment!

That's it for me today. But I'll be back tomorrow to share a new project with you. See you then!

Color Throwdown Challenge #603 - You Brightened My Day

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. My card is based on this inspiration photo which includes yellow, orange and green.

I masked off stripes on my card front and blended in the three challenge colors. I added the sentiment and then the fruits which I had previously stamped and cut. I guess they were just waiting for the right card to come along! Adding clear sequins was the final touch.

You can join in the fun at Color Throwdown too if you would like! This is just the first day, so you have plenty of time to play along. You will find the rules and the link to add your creation at the Color Throwdown website.

See you again tomorrow!

Missing You

Happy Tuesday!

I fell in love with this stamp set called Posh Planters from Paper Smooches about a year too late. I bought the last one available at Scrapbook.com and truly I think it was the last one on earth. I tried so hard to find it for you, but I guess once they retired it, it was gone!

But I will link the background stamp which is from Pinkfresh Studios. It is one of the many I stamped last week because I just couldn't stop once I got started!

I hope you have a wonderful day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Happy Monday!

Christmas in July! It's hot here in Texas, but maybe we can pretend a bit! You know, I will be super happy to have some cards already completed when the real Christmas season sneaks up on me!

Here is the stamp set I used for my card called Most Wonderful Time of the Year. It is a great (and easy) layering set upon which you can create a gorgeous winter scene. I ink blended my background and then stamped the green portion of the tree and the sentiment. Then I added the snowy layer which is fine detailed white embossing power. Quick and easy card...but don't tell anyone!

How are you coming along with your holiday cards? It's fun to get ahead!

You can see these products and so much more by visiting Picket Fence Studios today. I have linked the products I used below if you are in a shopping mood!

Have a wonderful and cool day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Thinking of You

Happy Sunday!

Stencils stencils everywhere! I love it. Picket Fence Studios has some of the most unique stencils in their store. And now with the Paper Glaze available, I am finding more fun options for stenciling.

I mixed up a few shades of the Paper Glaze for each custom color and then added glitter. When it dried, there was great texture and glitter that did not rub off. Win, win!

I used the Baker's Twine stamp set again and added my sentiment from the More Fancy Sentiments stamp set.

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Happy Birthday

Happy Saturday!

As a cat mama, it would have been hard for me to pass up this fun stencil from Picket Fence Studios. I paired it with the Baker's Twine stamp set so my kitty could have something to play with.

I am glad that stencils are popular right now. There are so many techniques to try with them! Have you jumped on the band wagon yet?

I'll be back tomorrow with another stencil project and I'll see you then.
