Hope Your Christmas Shines Bright

Happy Friday!

As promised, here is a stepped up version of yesterday's card using a stamp from Technique Tuesday.  I stamped quite a few strands of lights and colored them with Copic markers.  I added just a bit of sparkle to each light.  I also added a light grey shadow to each light to give more depth to the card.

I hope you like this one.  I had fun creating it for sure!

Have a Tangle-Free Holiday

I think I have gone a bit overboard with Christmas stamps this year.  But in my defense...I am trying to use them multiple times instead of just once.  I have a stepped up version of this one to share with you tomorrow!

The light strand stamp is from Technique Tuesday.  I paired it with a background I stamped with a turnabout stamp from Concord and 9th.  I thought it was a fun combination!

Color Throwdown Challenge #521 - Joy to You and Me

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge.  This color combo was a little bit challenging, but I gave it a try.

I used the Joy Ornaments stamps and dies from Mama Elephant for the main focus of the card.  The letters and ornament are a really pretty shade of grey, but the camera just didn't capture it well.  I added silver embossing powder to the ornament topper as well as the inside design of the ornament.  I also added some silver sequins to finish the design.

Merry Christmas

Hello Saturday Friends!

Confession time:  I had some extra card fronts from last year with the embossed branch and different languages already done.  But I hadn't added anything hanging from the tree.  Last year I used a silver and gold embossed world ornament. 

I had the new Pretty Pink Posh Decorative Ornaments stamp and die set in my pile of unused stamps and dies, so I grabbed this one and spent just a little bit of time coloring it with Copic markers. I have to say I absolutely love it.  I plan to use some of these card fronts with all the ornaments from that set.  I can't believe how simple it is and yet so pretty!

Color Throwdown Challenge #520 - Miss You Snow Much

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge.  I love to decorate in neutrals, yet I rarely make cards with this type of palette.  But I thought I would give it a try!

I used the Neat and Tangled Bunny Slopes stamp set for my little snow scene.  I was looking through some older winter stamps and noticed this one needed some ink!

Forever is Composed of Nows

This quote is by Emily Dickinson and is just so lovely and true!  Pinkfresh Studio made this beautiful die to showcase this wonderful sentiment!

I colored everything except the words with Copic markers in soft shades and then used my shimmer pen to give a subtle sparkle to the entire die cut.

Thinking of You

Hello Tuesday Friends!

Did you ever look at a stamp set and wonder if it could be used differently?  That's what happened with this set called Skeleton Leaves.

I don't know why I thought this would work as an abstract design, but I am glad I tried it.  I also added some vines from this set called Whimsical Wildflowers.

Today's card is my day 5 homework for the Online Card Classes Clean and Simple Holiday class that is going on right now.  Well, the class is actually over except for the wrap up day.  It has been a truly wonderful experience.  I have never taken a class with OCC that I haven't enjoyed!

Day 5 was about heat embossing.  I used the Delicate Snowflake background stamp for my embossed background along with silver embossing powder.  The rest of the card was made with the Rustic Autumn stamp set.  Both of these are from Gina K. Designs.

Hello - Merry Christmas

Hello Saturday Friends!

Today's card is my day 4 homework for the Online Card Classes Clean and Simple Holiday class that is going on right now.

Day 4 was about using foil and glitter.  I used this beautiful Pinkfresh Studio die called Hello with a Bouquet.  I added sparkle with my glitter pen, but for the real shine, I used glitter paper which I think just made this card extra special.  To finish my card I added just a few red sequins.

Today's card is my day 3 homework for the Online Card Classes Clean and Simple Holiday class that is going on right now.

Day 3 was about coloring.  I had to color this image quite a few times, but in the end, I think I learned a lot about coloring snow.  For one thing, it is not my forte, but I kept on coloring because practice is the only way to get better!  And the good news is there are plenty of YouTube videos to help us learn.

Today's card is my day 2 homework for the Online Card Classes Clean and Simple Holiday class that is going on right now.

Day 2 was about die cutting. This card was so simple because I just die cut the reindeer from the black card stock and placed the buffalo check paper underneath it.  Quick and easy-peasy!

I went old school on the dots and pulled out some circle punches.  I added lots of the small, medium and large dots to resemble snow.  I finished my card with a sweet little sentiment.

A Bird Sings Because It Has a Song

Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday I shared some sweet little cartoon-like birds, but today I have a much more realistic one for you!  This is a tufted tit mouse.  Icky name for a beautiful bird!

Here is the stamp set designed by Alicia Krupskaya called Winter Birds.  It is part of the newest release from Gina K. Designs.  There are matching dies available as well.

I am no expert when it comes to Copic coloring, but I was intent on trying to color this guy.  I searched Google images and found quite a few that helped me with the coloring and shading.  I tried coloring him a second time, but this one proved to be the better of the two.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #40 - Season's Tweetings

Happy Monday!

I am sending this card over to the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge blog.  The challenge this time is a color challenge.  The design team wants us to use colors found in the Really Rainbow-Christmas paper line.  I don't have that particular paper, but I did have fun trying to duplicate the colors with a very sweet older Lawn Fawn set called Winter Sparrows.

Thanks So Very Much

Happy Sunday!

As you know I am so enamored with the Gina K. Designs Wreath Builder sets.  This card uses the Autumn Wreath Builder stamp set.

I fancied it up with just a little Copic coloring to add some dimension to the blue pumpkins and the green leaves and I love the look of it.  Sometimes just a tiny bit of extra effort can make a big difference!

Life Is Something Good Every Day

Happy Saturday!

Yesterday I was listening to a sermon by Levi Lusko and something REALLY stood out for me.  He said you can't have a positive life with negative thoughts.

WOW!  It is so true.  I have worked really hard on eliminating negativity from my life.  But lately it has crept back in.  A few days ago I recognized its reappearance and decided to take action.  So hearing Levi's sermon really brought it home for me.

So that's my message to you today.  What you look for, you will find.  Find positive things.  The more you set your mind on the positive, the more positive you will feel and experience!

Life IS something good every day!

These colors are just so beautiful together!  I knew I wanted to make a Christmas card, so I used the Bountiful Branch stamp set to fashion a loose wreath.  This is one of the easiest layering stamp sets I've ever used and I love the results.

Color Throwdown Challenge #518 - Wishing You a Sparkling Holiday

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge. I know this color scheme should remind me of fall, and I guess it does.  But I still wanted to make an out of the box colored Christmas card.

I selected the Triangle Trees stamp (and die) set from Reverse Confetti for my card.  I am a sucker for geometric shapes.  I used Caribbean Sky, Sunkissed, and Paper Bag inks from Altenew and beautiful card stock from Gina K. Designs.  Even though I love Jesus with all my heart, I like off the wall Christmas cards.  Give me trees, Santas and reindeer and I will make fun cards!!
