A Fun Bookmark for Your Summertime Read

Happy Friday Friends!

Just in time for a nice relaxing weekend.  Go ahead, grab that book you are half way through and curl up and read a while.  When you have to stop - well here's a bookmark for you.

If you have ten minutes, you could make it  For the base, tape four paper scraps together.  Yes - you just made your own patterned paper!  I like to do this on items that will be handled often.  Because there is no layering, there is less chance for tearing.  Still the finished project looks dimensional.

Then just die cut the paper.  Next die cut a thin piece of chipboard followed by one more piece of patterned paper.  Then make a sandwich of the three layers.  I like to use my Xyron machine for solid adhesive coverage, but you could use any glue that works for you.

Thread some ribbon or twine through a small hole in the top and add a cute embellishment.  It could be a sticker, or a flower, or another die cut piece which is what I used.

I think this would make a cute gift tag too.  Don't you?

I've listed the two dies that I used at the end of this post.  They are from PaperTrey Ink and I've linked to both of them.

I will be back tomorrow to show you two new die sets that are on my radar.
