Happy Birthday - A Blast from the Past

I am sure one of my Stampin' Up friends would know....  How old is this stamp set?  Five years old?  Maybe more?

I was sitting in the crop room of our scrapbooking retreat last week and I spied this set out of the corner of my eye.  You see, all of my old Stampin' Up stamps sets are there for the gals to use.  When I picked it up, I wondered if I had ever used it.  Still not sure.

So I took the set home for a week's visit to MY studio and now I can say I have used it.  I paper pieced his jacket and colored the rest of the image with Copic markers and glitter pens.

You may recognize the label die from Saturday.  It is Spellbinders Labels Seventeen again. It seems to work well for really large images like this one.

I didn't want to put it on a card so I tried a gift bag.  It looked cute, but my gift bag was a bit tacky, so I opted not to use it.  I grabbed a frame from my stash and started layering.

Having not planned very well, there was no room for the Happy Birthday sentiment, so out came some more dies.  The sentiment and mat were cut using 2 Spellbinders circle dies.  And the red frame that surrounds the sentiment is from the Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Doily Accents set.  I hot glued 2 red beads to the top of my frame and then hung the framed sentiment using baker's twine.

This is just one more way to use your artwork and your dies.  I think it will be a fun little birthday gift next time I need one.  Easy peasy!

Tomorrow I am coming back to see you with a stamp and die set from MFT Stamps.  Hold on til then.

Susie
