Wishing You the Happiest Birthday Ever

Hello Thursday!

Well, last night was Girls' Night Out and we had the best time celebrating our friend Melinda's birthday.  Sometimes I have birthday cards on hand...but it wouldn't have mattered.  I still would have made a special card for her.  She is truly the kindest person I've ever met and she deserved a card made just for her.

I used papers from the Authentique Curiosity line.  I wouldn't have put these papers together myself.  But they were all in the paper pad....so I went for it.  And I love the combination!

Adding the twine, flowers and bling gave the card texture and since I didn't have to mail it, I didn't mind that it was lumpy.

I tried something different on this card....dots and lines with a gel pen.  I have never been good at this, but I decided to retry it.  I am ok with the result but it still seems odd to me since I've failed at it so many other times!

The entire card was inspired by this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.  Here it is for you to try too:

I hope you'll play along.  I am heading there right now to upload my card.

I'll be back tomorrow with a project I made for our soon to arrive grandson, Andrew.

See you then.

Susie
