Happy Birthday

Happy Monday!

Today is one of those Mondays I get to play along with PaperTrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge.

This week's challenge was WAY out of my comfort zone.  We were to use embossing paste.  Of course I HAVE embossing paste - actually in a few colors - but have never used it.

Anyway, I watched the video and decided I could do it.  I colored my white embossing paste using two colored ink pads and then applied it over the stencil I made using a PaperTrey Ink cover plate.  I decided to sprinkle a bit of glitter over the top before it dried for a bit of sparkle.

I added my die cut sentiment and a few sequins to finish my card.  It was fun to make this card even though I had NO idea what I was doing!

Watch the video and you will be enticed to try this technique too.  You have all week to play along with the challenge at PTI.   Click right here for the link.

See you tomorrow.

  1. Susie, what a great card. Love the colors. Have you tried to sponge ink on the paste just before it's dry? Or after drying? Thinking if I return the stencil to the card, I could sponge color over it without tainting the white borders.
