Inspired by All the Little Things #8 - I'm Stuck on You

Happy Thursday!

While browsing Facebook yesterday I saw that my friend Sheri Gilson had been chosen as a design team member at a new challenge blog called Inspired by All the Little Things.  So of course I had to check it out.

I spent some time looking through the website and it is quite lovely.  You can work with whatever inspires you from each week's inspiration photo.  It could be the subject matter or color, etc.   Here is the graphic for this week:

I was inspired by the succulents in the beautiful bouquet.  I grabbed this Lawn Fawn stamp set and started creating.  My card morphed through quite a few phases before it ended up a shaker card!  But I love how it finally all came together.

So be sure to check out this new challenge. I plan to join in as often as I can!  And congrats to my sweet friend Sheri!

See you tomorrow.

Color Throwdown #386 - Love You Friend

Hello Wednesday friends!

It's the very first day of this week's Color Throwdown challenge!  I was late last week, so I thought I'd shoot for early this week!

I used a small stamp set from Simon Says Stamp to build my focal image.  It is called Hello Friend.  This is a new technique for me and I think I like it.  It's fun to use tiny stamps to make a big splash!

Here is a look at the beautiful colors for this week:

You have plenty of time to join the challenge!  You can click right here for the link to participate.  Be sure to take a look at what the designers have created.  You will be totally amazed and inspired to create.

Thanks - You're the Best

Hello Tuesday Friends!

Here is a bright and cheery card for you!

I used the Modern Blooms from MFT Stamps to make my flowers and leaves.  I used the Distressed Patterns stamps for the background - also from MFT Stamps.

I think I really meant to buy the Mini Modern Blooms, but these are great too.  I did digitize them all so that I could cut out as many as I wanted.  I also stamped quite a few in different colors and digitized those.  I decided to make my own minis just by using my Cameo.  I've cut out lots of them - so you will be seeing those soon.

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Color Throwdown #385 - You're A Lifesaver

Happy Monday!

Well, here I am at the very last moment uploading my card to the Color Throwdown weekly challenge.  I used products from Lawn Fawn and Simon Says Stamp to make my card and I love how playful it is.

Here is the color palette for this week's challenge:

I hope I can show you next week's challenge card a bit sooner!  Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Hey There Chick!

Happy Saturday!

Just a fun card for you today.  I have NO idea how many stamp and die sets I've used here...but my work table can verify that it was quite a few!

I wanted to bring a smile to your face and I hope I have.

Our Easter Table - #springerupper

Happy Friday!

I thought I would share our Easter table with you today.  Many of you know that we are in a new (to us) house.  We have been renovating a 1949 cottage for the past year.  Our target date for completion is May 20th since that is the one year anniversary of our purchase date.  Almost all of the inside construction and renovation is complete now.  And about 90% of the decor is done.

We have very few pieces from our past, so we had the privilege of curating and collecting nearly all of the furniture and decor for this house.  It has been so much fun.  Starting from scratch, but wanting everything to look old is truly a challenging and wonderful adventure.  I've spent many late nights searching the web for just the right pieces as well as scouring antique and junk stores.  It has paid off!!

So all that to say - here is our Easter table.  I mixed in some of my grandmother's crystal with new place settings from Pier 1.  I added just a bit of burlap to ground my centerpiece.  I wish it were old and had a story - but it is from Hobby Lobby.

I just recovered the chair cushion (I have 3 more to go), so I thought I'd give you a peek at that too.

And I just wanted to mention that over on Instagram, if you type in #springerupper, you will find some beautiful spring decor.  I will be loading my Easter table picture there later today.

Have a great Friday and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Just Be Kind

Happy Thursday!

What could be better than kindness?

I used stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps to make my tag and then did a little bit of water coloring behind my stamped words.  I sorta love the look of this technique!

And right now there is a freebie on the Sweet 'n Sassy site so click on over and get your gift!!

Have a terrific Thursday and I'll see you right back here tomorrow.

We Have Loads of Fun

Happy Wednesday!

Do you love Lawn Fawn?  Who doesn't, right?

I bought this adorable stamp set in February and just now I am getting it inky.  I don't own the dies so I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the images.  It took a few attempts to color the washer, but I finally settled on this one

Right at the end I added the little birdie from MFT Stamps.  I do have the dies for this set, so it was easy to add him quickly.  I think he finishes the card perfectly!

Have a bright and shiny day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Gina K. Designs Inspirational Blog Hop - Handmade Botanicals

Happy Monday!

The cast and crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to a special Inspiration Blog Hop featuring our new incentive stamp set, Handmade Botanicals.  These stamps would be the perfect complement to an existing Gina K. Designs stamp set or used on their own.  Plus the Handmade By stamp is great for adding your own personal touch to your cards.  I decided to make a card from both categories - complementary and stamps used as a focal point.

Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Gina K. Designs Store!  To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

Here is a picture of this great new incentive stamp set:

The card at the top of my post uses the stamps to complement a design from the Made with Love StampTV Kit.  I adore how the images add just the sweetest touch to the bottom of the card.

For the following card I used one of the images stamped three times (at differing heights) for the focal point of my card.  Then I chose sentiments from the Inspiration Mosaic stamp set to complete the design.

Ready for more awesome creations?  Just click on the links below for more from the design team.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Gina K Designs Store and check out all of the new products available this month in the What’s New section.

Enjoy the hop and I'll see you again tomorrow.

Today I am Thankful

Happy Sunday!

I just wanted to share one of the pages from my now completed and printed 2014 book for my grandsons.

These fine folks are the boys' paternal grandparents.  They love these two boys just as much as we do.  Caleb and Andrew are so fortunate to have so many family members to cherish them!

Have a lovely Sunday and I'll see you again tomorrow,

Happy Saturday!

As part of the design team for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, I love showcasing our new and coming soon products.

So today I am sharing the beautiful Creative Worship Seek Him clear stamp set and the Creative Worship Just Be clear stamp set (coming soon)   These sets are actually for Bible Jounaling, but they can be used to make thoughtful greeting cards too.  This one could easily be a sympathy or an encouragement card.

Here is a look at the Creative Worship Seek Him set:

Thank You for Being My Friend

Happy Friday My Friends!

I promised you earlier this week I would show you the second large image from my newest stamp set from Your Next Stamp. So here it is.  Isn't that bunny the cutest!

I decided on a shaker card for this one.  It was easy to make and that sentiment at the bottom just completed the whole card!

Have a great day and I'll see you tomorrow.

Color Throwdown #384 - You are Loved in Him

Hello Wednesday friends!

It's the very first day of this week's Color Throwdown challenge!  I try to participate every week as this is my favorite online challenge.

I am very nervous about water coloring because I am sort of a control freak.  So this tends to be the extent of it for me.  Even though it is primitive, it makes me happy.  I used some of the newest stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for my sentiment.  I love these sets because you can mix and match them.  They are really popular for Bible Jounaling, but for me as a card maker, they are great too.

Here is a look at the beautiful colors for this week:

A Cuppa Thanks

Hello Tuesday Friends!

This is my first stamp ever from Your Next Stamp.  A sweet friend sent it to me and I think it will become a favorite.  There are two main images in this set plus quite a few sentiments.  Later this week I will show you the other large image.

It did take me a few tries to color the image correctly.  I really struggled with that bunny!  But I think this one turned out just fine.  I paired it with patterned paper from MFT Stamps.  I am loving their papers lately!

Well, off I go to create some more cards to share.

See you tomorrow!

Easter Blessings

Happy Monday!

I just can't get enough of this Easter set from MFT Stamps.  I'm not even sure if it is still for sale because it came out two or three years ago....but I still love it.

I paired my tag with some of MFT's patterned paper and was delighted at how well it all came together.  Just for fun, I cut an additional tag from gold embossed paper to go behind my main tag.  I love the dimension!

Have a great day and I'll be right back here tomorrow.  See you then!

Hello

Hello Sunday Friends!

Late last night I was watching a little YouTube and I ran across an old technique made a bit new.  Please forgive me for not referencing the video....it was 2am when I found it and I don't remember who posted it.  However, I dreamed about it all night long and knew I had to make a version of what I had seen.

The technique used to be (maybe still is) called One Sheet Wonder.  This is where you stamped an entire 8.5x11 paper with lots of images and then you could cut them up to make multiple cards.  Instead of doing an entire sheet of card stock, I just did one card front size piece.  I figured I could make two cards. Of course I messed up the other half...so one card will do.

The primary stamp set I used is a layering flower set from Altenew.  I didn't use the images as layers though.  I just stamped random outlines in grey and black until I had just small spaces to fill.  Then I grabbed some tiny stamps and added in dots and squiggles.  I like that it was an additional way to use my stamps.

I cut my panel in half and layered it onto my card front with fun foam in between.  Then I added a die cut sentiment and some pearls.

Yup, this was fun.  A little time consuming, but I plan to do it again!

See you tomorrow.

I'll Miss You Forever

Hello Thursday Friends,

Every year on March 10th, I honor my best friend Susan Ivey.  She passed away on this day six years ago.  She took a huge portion of my heart when she left.

Because she had a massive stroke and never regained conscienceless, there were no goodbyes.  Instead there were five days of hand holding, scripture reading, long one sided discussions, begging, pleading, crying....  But then she left.  And she is happy in Heaven.

Six years ago no one expected anything from me because I was empty.  I was angry with the world for continuing on while my friend was gone.  Didn't they understand?  Slowly grief worked itself out....VERY slowly.

My pain is still there.  But I'm not empty anymore because she wouldn't want me to be.  She would say, "Susie Cannon Moore (she always called me by all of my names), you have to go forward and you have to be greater than you were before.  You have to help others and you can't do that if you are empty.  So get on with it."

I still hear her voice.  I still laugh about things we shared.  I still have tears.  But I won't let her down.  I won't do that.  I love you, Susan.  And I'll miss you forever.

Be sweet and kind to everyone you meet today.

Easter Decor

Happy Wednesday!

I couldn't resist showing you just a bit of my Easter decor.  These pictures were taken in our living room/dining room.  We have a clean white cottage feel to our house and I love decorating for the holidays in this style.

Do you see that large egg in the egg cup?  One of my sweet neighbors has geese and she brought me this goose egg.  She said it would keep like this for up to four months!  Who knew?

I hope you have a marvelous day and will come back tomorrow to visit.

See you then.

Hello Tuesday Friends!

Is it too soon to start making Easter cards?  Not if you have this adorable stamp set from Create A Smile Stamps to pair with some sweet plaid patterned paper from MFT Stamps.

Just sayin!

Mash Up Monday - Happy Birthday

Happy Monday!

I thought today I would do some mixing and matching of some stamp companies.  It's certainly NOT like any of us have stamps from just one company!

So today I am doing a Gina K. Designs and My Favorite Things Stamps Mash Up  I used Distressed Patterns from MFT Stamps and A Year of Flowers 3 from Gina K. Stamps.

Don't get me wrong.....both companies have beautiful stamps that could make this card on their own....but why not use your collections together to make a NEW collection?

Maybe I'll start a Mash Up Movement!  Who's in?

See you tomorrow!!

Celebrate

Happy Sunday!

My card today uses the new A Year of Flowers 3 by Melanie Muenchinger.  This set is just filled with beautiful blooms, stems, leaves and even baby's breath.  I think it is a must have set!

Here is a look at the set:

Once I colored my roses, I cut a circle from GKD Onyx Black card stock to make a frame.  Then I added my sentiment, some bling and called it complete.

Have the best day!  See you tomorrow.

Tune My Heart to Sing Thy Praise

Happy Saturday!

I have another card for you today using some of the Creative Worship stamp sets from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  I hope you like the I am Loved clear stamp set.  The two silhouette images are just so beautiful and the sentiments are lovely too.  For my card I used this set for the image and the Songs of Praise stamp set for the sentiment.  I like to mix sets for more variety - sort of unexpected and fun!

Be sure to check out all the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps
fantastic clear stamps.

Have a marvelous day and I will see you again tomorrow!

Hello - Genevieve Giraffe

Happy Friday!

Just a quick share of another Genevieve Giraffe card.  I did minimum coloring because the background is so bright and busy.  This is really just a different way to make a focal point stand out I think.

Have a fun day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Hello

Happy Thursday!

Here is a quick card I made with the beautiful new Gina K. Designs stamp set called Birds and Blossoms 2 illustrated by Theresa Momber.  This set has wonderful line art that can be used in so many ways.  Here is a picture of the complete set:

I stamped and heat embossed over some simple water coloring to achieve the look on my square panel.  I added the sentiment, some black bling and sequins.  What could be easier?

I think this would be a great card to do in multiples for gift sets.  What do you think?

Have a great day and I'll see you again tomorrow!

Color Throwdown #382 - Those Who Wish to Sing

Happy Wednesday!

Here is my card for this week's Color Throwdown challenge.

I was stumped at first by this color palette, but I decided to make it work...in my own way.  I used some watery pink paint over my sentiment and made the inside of my shaker the blue/green in the challenge photo.  Then of course I added a few sequins!!

My card is made with products from Gina K. Designs.  If you have time, be sure to check out the newest releases.  They are pretty sweet!

You have plenty of time to join the challenge because this is the very first day!  You can click right here for the link to participate.  Be sure to take a look at what the designers have created.  You will be totally amazed and inspired to create.

See you tomorrow!

Gina K. Designs Inspirational Blog Hop - Day 2

Happy Tuesday!

The cast and crew for Gina K Designs welcomes you to the second day of our blog hop celebrating the new stamps from the February release party.  We hope to inspire you with some beautiful card projects as you hop along to each of the designer's blogs.

Today we are featuring the new stamp set Genevieve Giraffe by Beth Silaika and the Scripty Sayings incentive set by Gina K..  Enjoy the gorgeous inspiration samples from the team and then comment on each blog for your chance to win an awesome grab bag of GKD goodies.  To see who won, check the Big News Forum at StampTV a few days after the hop.

I want to share two cards with you today.  The first one (above) uses the new set Genevieve Giraffe.

Here is a look at the set:

I used some of the smaller stamps in this set.  So often I overlook them.  But they are FILLED with possibilities!!!  I masked a line on my die cut rectangle and used the balloon string to make the stems for the "flower" hearts.  Then I used it again to make little wisps of grass.  I stamped and colored my little bird next.  Easy peasy! Then I stamped my hearts which I colored with Copic markers. After I added my panel to the card front, I stamped my sentiments and glued on some bling and called that one done.

And now for card #2:

One of the sets I used on this card is the new incentive set, Scripty Sayings by Gina K.  Here is a look at the set (which you will get free when you place a $75 order during the next two weeks):

I used three different stamp sets on my card, You've Got a Friend in Me, A Wish for You and of course the new incentive stamp set.  I wanted you to see how versatile this set is.  This is the perfect companion set for all the beautiful stamps you already own!

Ready for more awesome creations?! Just click on the links below for more from the illustrators and design team.

Don’t forget to pop over to the Gina K Designs Store and check out all of the new products available this month in the What’s New section.

Enjoy the hop and I'll see you again tomorrow!
