Color Hues The Color Challenge #TCH #3 - Happy Anniversary

Happy Friday!

I am sending my card over the the Color Hues The Color Challenge blog today for their newest challenge which is to use Gold and Cream

I decided to go old school for my background paper. I used the Brutus Monroe Vintage Tapestry embossing folder on Bazzill card stock to get a very soft textured background. I fell in love with it immediately.

I knew right away how I wanted to incorporate gold into my design when I saw this challenge. I die cut quite a few Detail Elm Leaves from Simon Says Stamp and ran my embossing ink just over the ends of each leaf. Then I used gold embossing powder to get the bright, shiny gold. I made a leaf cluster which I arranged around the Etched Eucalyptus Wreath also from SSS. I added pearls from my stash and my sentiment and decided I was done.

THEN I had second thoughts...yup that happens. So I made a second much simpler card using some of the same supplies. Then I decided this card was alright after all. Next Friday I will show you my second card and also send it over to the challenge.

I'll be back tomorrow and I'll see you then!

  1. This is so pretty Susie! I love who the tips of the flowers are trimmed in gold! Looking forward to seeing your other card too! Thanks for playing with us at Color Hues!

  2. This is gorgeous! I love the partially gold-embossed leaves, what a great idea. THanks for joining us at Color Hues!

I love hearing from you! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment.
