Happy Mother's Day

Today I am focusing on MFT Stamps.  This is a company which is close to my heart.  The only time I've submitted anything for magazine publication, I used a stamp from this company and they chose my card for publication!  It was a contest for National Card Making Day a few years ago.  I was so surprised when they called and said I had won.  Made me feel pretty special.

OK - I digress.  Yes - I love their stamps.  And lately they have added a line called Pure Innocence.  And if that were not enough - now they have dies too.  Oh my.  I love this company.  So here is my project for Mother's Day to share with you.

This little cutie pie is colored with Copic markers and cut with a large oval Spellbinders die.  I used an oval scalloped die from the same company to mat it.  I wanted a different look for the mat, so I used a small hole punch to make it look more like eyelet.

I used Once Upon a Springtime Collection from Graphic 45 to make the card.  I have the 8x8 paper pack which I like for cards because the designs are scaled down.

The other dies I used on the card are both from MFT Stamps.  I used the Jumbo Scallops Die (I tried to make it look like eyelet as well) and also the Rolled Flower Die.

To make the flowers, I colored some buckram fabric with copic markers and then used the die to cut the flowers.  Then just rolled them right up.  The colors on the photo don't look exactly right - but in real life, they matched the paper really well. Oh - and the little wand?  I used some Stickles on it to make it shine.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and if you are a mom, I hope you had a mom-tastic day today.

Susie
