Using Dies to Make Cupcake Toppers

Happy Monday to all my web-friends.

Today I want to show you one of my favorite new things to make with dies.  Cupcake toppers!  I have made some really girly ones for a party and some fun Valentine ones already this year.  But now comes the hardest ones for me - BOY cupcake toppers.

One of the fellas at my office is having a birthday tomorrow.  We have a fun group of gals at work who enjoy making our coworkers feel loved -so one bakes a cake and some of us decorate.  I am one of the decorators.

I printed 18 of these images in Word and then cut them out using a round Spellbinders die.  Then I cut out a round mat and finally a pinked mat.   I found some star eyelets in my stash - so I attached one to the frog's cape.  I always like a bit of dimension.  I AM going to try to avoid using glitter on this one.  I do love glitter....but it is for a boy - so I shall abstain.

In between the round green mat and the red pinked mat, I glued in a toothpick.  Only 17 to go and I'll be done.

I must go now and look for some crepe paper to take to work for the decorating.  And I'll be back tomorrow with another project.

See you soon.

Susie
