Yummy Sweet

This is a card that I made while crafting with my friend Jalyane.  I showed her a fun technique and now I want to show you too.

After I die cut the focal image (YUMMY!), I left the paper in the die and then went back and used an embossing mat and ran it back through the machine.

After the embossing, I still left the paper in the die.  But I was done with the machine.  I pulled out my chalks and selected an icy blue.  I lightly chalked the area inside the die until I achieved the look I wanted.

When I finally pulled the paper out of the die, I had a nice white edge and a light blue background.  I use this technique quite a bit and I love it.  I have used Tim Holtz Distress Ink for this technique on other cards.  Works really well too.  I hope you will give it a try.

The little flourish on either side of the focal image is the Fancy Tags die by Spellbinders.  The die is really not this long - but I needed it to be.  So I just cut my die cut piece in half and then adhered the two halves behind my focal point.  Instant growth!

I added some brads, a bow and some stickles and I think this easy card looks good enough to eat.

I will be back tomorrow with a bright yellow card to show.
