Sew Special

Indeed we have made it to Friday!

Today's card really is not all that special on the outside.  I suppose it is pretty enough with that lace on top and the ribbon in the middle of the  dress form....

The die I used is called Sewing Room from Tim Holtz.  It is a Sizzix die and I really do enjoy using it.  I even ran it through an embossing folder.

But the real fun in this card is when you open it.

Ready?  Set.

OPEN.

Now isn't that fun?  I used the same die and cut the base from brown felt and the middle part from some pink Inky Antics HoneyPop Honeycomb.

The key to all of this is to make two score lines in the card base so that the card can expand with the honeycomb part.  I saw this at my local scrapbook store and thought it was so clever!

So there's a fun card for you to try.  Think apples, hearts....anything symmetrical.  Can't wait to see what you design.  And maybe I'll show you something else using this technique soon.

Tomorrow I am VERY excited to bring you my first Cardabilities sketch and card.  I hope you'll come back and take a look.
