Happy Thanksgiving Tag and A Giveaway

Hi Friends,

This is a super fun day for me because it is my first challenge post for Joy's Life Stamps.

Our challenge this week was to get messy.  That is quite a challenge for me because I don't usually get messy in any way. But I did this time.  I was determined to do it.

I started by embossing some stamped leaves on the background of the tag. Then I used Tim Holtz' newest seasonal distress inks over the embossed images.  I wiped away the excess and the copper just glistened.  But not enough..so I spritzed the tag with pearl glimmer spray.  Finally - messy enough for me.

Then I just needed to dress up the tag and my first thought was to use a sentiment.  And since this is Joy's challenge, I used stamps from two of her stamp sets.   The Happy is from the Everyday Occasions set and the Thanksgiving is from her Holiday Occasions set. I could have stamped them separately, but they actually stacked perfectly and I could just stamp once.

I used three dies on this.  The first is the Well Worn Greetings (3-piece) Set.  I have wanted this set for months and finally purchased it a few weeks ago.  The next die I used is the Crown Border.  I added a few Copic-colored pearls to it for dimension.  And the final die I used is the Loopy Bloom.  I wanted to see if it would work with paper as wells as felt.  And it does!

To finish the tag I stamped and cut out the leaf,  added Copic-colored seam binding, pearls and a fun fall spray. And of course some Stickles on the berries.  Gotta have Stickles.

I hope you will visit all of the blogs that have Challenge Projects.  Then submit your project too on  the Joy's Life website.

Oh I almost forgot - I will be giving this tag away to one lucky reader.  Just become a follower on my blog and leave me a comment too.  I will select one recipient on Monday, Nov 14 and mail out this tag just in time for Thanksgiving.

Come on - get messy!

And just one more fun thought...I'll be entering this in the present week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Stop by and see all the pretties when you have a chance.
